Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP). Very nice signed inscription to another author from Enid, Oklahoma. It reads: 'To Gertrude E. Major, You may not know it; But your persevering unassuming true friendship has been an anchor to my otherwise tempest-tossed (?). Thank you dear (?) Girl, Alice Sutton McGeorge, 1121 N. Randolph, Enid, Okla, Sept. 1938.' Gertrude E. Major from Enid, Oklahoma wrote at least three books that are for sale on the Internet. The condition of this book is excellent, The covers are truly unique. I don't know what the photos will show and I don't know to describe it. Sort of a glaze with white shimmering vertical lines (or light) on both the front and back. It changes as you move the book. There are also lightly engraved 'autumn leaves' on the front. The gilt lettering on the front and spine is in good condition. The covers have little to no wear. The edges and corners look very good. The spine ends have only a little crinkling, and there's a tiny crease under the front top corner. The book is solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are very clean. I'm not seeing any soiling or creasing. There are no markings in the book. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. Inscribed by Author(s).
