The text is the version set down in 1828 by John Payne Collier. The etchings made by George Cruikshank for the first edition are reproduced by collotype from one of only eighteen sets of pulls originally made on india paper. Designed by Frederic Warde, and printed under his supervision at the Princeton University Press. Collotype reproductions of both etchings and water-colors made by Arthur Jaffe of Vienna. Bound in publisher's full pictorially embossed blind-stamped cowhide. Includes folding chemise and slipcase. Minor shelfwear to book: light rubbing along edges and covers. Chemise has some tearing along spine edge, water stain on cover of slipcase. Book is in Near Fine condition. Slipcase and chemise are in Good condition.
