Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Boris Artzybasheff (illustrator). Book Club Edition. Described as a "stirring and vivid story" this novel is about the son of a Kurdish chief and the nomadic lifestyle in the Middle East. The author is an Iranian and author of the memoir "Myself When Young", describing his boyhood in what was then Persia. Although the title page says "Decorations by Boris Artzybasheff", all I can see are the decorated endpapers and one illustration by this Ukrainian born artist and illustrator. This the Junior Literary Guild issue of the Viking first edition of 1934. It was a school library book at some stage and has fairly unobtrusive rubber stamps to both endpapers and the bottom of one page. There is also a small red number written on the title page. Otherwise unaffected, and a very good copy with wear to extremities, through to the board on corners, and browning to the untrimmed edges.
