Softcover. Condition: Very good. First edition. Neagoe's book Storm was banned in the U.S in 1932. A letter from Anna Neagoe to RogerN. Baldwin oftheAmerican Civil Liberties Union, dated 15 August 1932, suggests 22 August 1932 as the publication date (Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library, Princeton University, ACLU archives). The ban was lifted in 1934 and the book was published in 1935 under the title "Winning a Wife". Dispite the claims made by the book's rear flap, neither a second impression of "Gold and Silver" nor a seventh impression of Daffodil has been located. This is the first edition published by Obelisk, not dated. Very good blue/green paper wrappers. Front cover detached, taped in place with a 2-inch bottom of the spine chipped.
