Ake says he and his brother, Will, were the two ex-confederate soldiers who General Custer released from an Austin, Texas prison after they were incarcerated for their political views against the harsh policies of Reconstruction. Also, a lot of outlaw material according to Six-Guns. Ake, claims to have known nearly all of the bad guys - such as John Wesley Hardin, Jesse James, Cole Younger, Bill Doolin, Sam Bass, and Ben Thompson! Very interesting reading.
