Book First Edition
Cloth. Condition: Very Good -. No Jacket. Abbott, Elenore Plaisted & Knipe, Helen Alden (illustrator). First Edition. This 187 pp. book is subtitled, "Being the Everyday Life of Great-A, Little-A and Bouncing-B". It is a delightful 109 year old children's book, with beautiful color illustrations interspersed. Since machine printed color only started appearing in books around 1900, most in 1909, generally only had black & white art. A prior owner's bookplate is affixed just inside the front board, and there is a 3 line inscription on the first flyleaf. Internally, the rear gutter is separating, but is otherwise clean and intact. Externally, the book is slightly cocked and shows moderate edge and corner wear. The color "paste-on" on the front board, while lightly soiled, is still quite attractive. Photos upon request.
