Cloth. Condition: Good Minus. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Tops of spines frayed. Volume 4 is chipping there as well. Wear at bottom of spines. Volume 1 is frayed at bottom. Pages are browned. Name stamped inside of each volume. Volume 1 has handwritten pencilled name and address as well. Volume 1 has tear in paper at the hinge. Ask for a photograph. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Blue cloth. Tips of corners show faint hint of wear, top edge of pages are slightly dusty. otherwise books are excellent, clean and very sharp, with bright gilt, tight bindings and clean pages. Overseas shipping would be much more.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good -. No Jacket. Full 6 Volume Set in sturdy buckram cloth boards. Perhaps ex-library? Some of the engravings in Volumes 1 and 2 are partially detached. In Volume 1 there is a small amount of underlining. In Volume 3 the frontispiece and engraving are detached. Map in Volume 4 has separated at its folds due to age. Pages are lightly age toned. Tightly bound mostly clean copies (with above exception). Inv. 10467. This is an oversize set, international or priority orders will be charged additional shipping.

EXTRA ILLUSTRATED with 192 prints and engravings relevant to the text including many on India paper, folding plates, folding maps and plans, double-page spreads, and a large folding Pepys Pedigree Chart. Title-pages in red and black. Unsigned binding, handsomely bound in full tan polished calf with triple gilt-ruled border, 5 raised bands, gilt decorated compartments, double, gilt-stamped leather spine labels in red and black, top edge gilt, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, ribbon bookmark. Armorial bookplate of Archibald Rogers to front pastedown of each volume. Unopened set, witth occasional minor offsetting from some of the additional plates, otherwise interiors are clean, bright, and crisp. Front hinge of vol. 4 only is split but hanging on, all other volumes are very good and tight. A highly desirable set with the extra illustrations relevant to the text. Handome on the shelf.
