Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. String-tied tan pictorial wrappers. Small octavo. A "toy book" by this publisher consisting of 8 pages. Each page is devoted to a different animal: The squirrel, weasel, tiger, deer, rabbit, leopard and elephant and has a hand-colored engraved illustration of the species, as well as a short printed description. The title page also has a colored engraved cut. WorldCat locates only one copy of this little booklet with J. Smith listed as the engraver on the front cover. Our copy has J.W. Orr on the cover as the engraver. Scarce. A good copy with some staining to the front cover which also has an ink owner's name at the top. The text is good with some light spotting and creasing. The title page has some staining in the middle.
Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Stereotyped edition. 96 p. 18 cm. Brown cloth with gold print. All edges gilt. Spine slightly warped. Pencil inscriptions on yellow endpapers.
