Hardcover. Condition: . ~ [TEMPORARY REDUCTION SALE: 20-30% OFF THE REGULAR PRICE] ~ (illustrator). Oblong crown quarto 23x29 cm. Decorative wall inspirational poster printed in black within decorative orange border with black motif. Comprising of 8 stanzas with 4 lines each. Mounted as issued on thick cardboard, beveled edges covered with patterned gold paper, secured hanging hook at back. In a very good condition. ~ Rare original inspirational artifact as spiritual support for the deaf. Written in the form of a long poem, it was printed in Holland by the American Acousticon and Dictograph Company. The text, rather optimistic and lighthearted, attempts to show the positive in every misfortune: "Bear thus, Oh Deaf, your cross so light / When on this world you roam / As you won't need to carry it / Hereafter, in God's home!" The composer of this poem is Victor Ernst Ketjen (1879-1941). An illustrious personality, this American-Dutch former sea captain was in 1923 co-founder of Acousticon in the Netherlands. Extremely uncommon, no reference could be found in any data base. K-01.
