Peoples is one of the Rangers included in this book and in The Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame. If you are even remotely interested in Texas law enforcement history, or more generally Texas history you will enjoy this book. Here is authenticated data on fifty-seven men who have had a "speaking" part in making Texas the great state it has become. There are 465 period pictures, most never before published, of Texas Rangers made during their "badge-toting" days. In addition to biographical sketches of each of these men, there are numerous pictures of the gear they used - their guns, badges, holsters, hand cuffs, leg irons, boots, hats, leather cuffs, chaps, spurs, saddles, etc. A few of the more notable rangers included in this study are John Coffee Hays, Ben McCulloch, William Alexander "Big Foot" Wallace, John R. Hughes, William Jesse "Bill" McDonald, Frank Hamer, Manuel T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas, Homer Garrison Jr., Clinton Peoples, and Walter Russell. A fascinating book. There is a small stain on the first end paper, otherwise the Book is a Very Good plus, clean, solid copy showing only moderate use. The Dust Jacket is Good with some wear and repair to the edges and primarily the spine ends. There is also some rubbing. It is now protected in a clear plastic cover.
