Hardcover. Condition: vg. 4to. 304 pp. Black cloth with decorative gold Hebrew lettering on front cover. Raised bands on spine. The main author, Moses Sofer, (a.k.a. the Chasam Sofer or Chatam Sofer 1762 - 1839) was one of the leading Rabbis of European and Israeli Jewry in the first half of the 19th century. During his lifetime, he was the main opponent of the newly established Reform movement and wrote many polemics against their new theology. Text in Hebrew, printed in "Rashi Script" with notes in block print. Age wear and scuffing to boards. Hinges slightly starting, otherwise book is in very good condition.
