Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First American Edition. CG4 - A tight, clean, sound copy with very minor overall shelf wear plus there is some light bumping on the right corners plus there is some very light fading on the top board edges plus there is some very light tape staining on the outside and inside surfaces of the boards and front and back endpapers from where the dust jacket was taped down to the boards plus there are the usual library stamps on the top and bottom outside paper edges, front and back endpapers, and title page. The dust jacket shows minor overall shelf wear plus there is significan sunning on the spine plus there is tapstaining on the spine and back plus there is a label stain and a patch of heaver fading around it on the spine. The letters written home by a member of a distinguished English family during his tour of the United States and the Pacific in 1898, just as America was preparing for war with Spain. His family's position allowed him access to notable people of his day, and along with his camping and travel adventures, combine to give the letters a picture of societh and politics in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. With a foreword by Leonard Woolf. Indexed, 310p. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
