Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. A pleasing very good+ example of contemporary leather binding commisioned by the Paul Elder Company early in the Twentieth Century. The gilt top edge is a tad dull, while the lush marbled endpapers are quite clean, with a tasteful armorial bookplate on the front pastedown. Features 52 lovely illustrations, 26 of which are the work of Maxfield Parrish, of which several are in color. (The dark greenish leather spine has discolored to a burnished brown, with a small ghost from a sticker at base, but the ribbed compartments remain attractive with their gilt tracings. Hints of rubbing to marbling on covers, with some rubbing to edges) A very lovely copy.
