Dampstain to 1 1/4" depth spanning lower front hinge across backstrip end and 1" along front cloth; associated staining to lower endpaper and lower margins of text through about p.90, well away from text. Hinge-tape reinforcement to gutter between frontis plate and title page, no play to hinge. Save as noted, cloth clean and sharp with shallow abrasion along upper spine end; mildly toed-in corners. Binding overall strong but stiff with mild separation at pp.214-215. Pages stiff but clean and unmarked.
