Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. A 408 page work, including an index, which is the first history of the state of Arizona to be written by a professional historian. There is a loose bookplate that has a minor tear at the left bottom outer edge that states "Ex Libris/ Rufus Kay Wyllys, Ph.D." I have looked but am unable to find where or if the bookplate was ever stuck to a book page or cover. This is the best overall condition volume of this work that I have had the pleasure of handling. A quite nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box!.

This edition of Arizona: The History of a Frontier State is limited to 406 copies, each including a page of the Original manuscript and each signed by the author, the designer, the illustrator and the cartographer. This copy is Number 21. The signatures are on the last page of the book and the page of the original manuscript (page 21) is at the front of the work. The cloth covers are reddish-orange with gilt lettering on the spine. The spine appears to be a bit faded probably from sitting on a book shelf being hit by sunlight. Interior of book is clean, tight and bright. The top of the pages are the same color as the covers. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality cover. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but price is blackened out and a lower price added. There is a light amount of wear and tear at the head & tail of the spine and at corners of the dj.
