Quer-8vo. 1 p. Eigenhändiges Albumblatt mit Unterschrift. Adolf Busch gilt heute als einer der bedeutendsten Violinisten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er wurde 1912 Konzertmeister beim Konzert-Vereins-Orchester in Wien und gründete das Wiener Konzert-Vereins-Quartett. 1919 gründete Busch in Berlin das bekannte Busch-Quartett und 1920 ein Trio mit seinem Bruder Hermann Busch und mit Rudolf Serkin (19031991), der später sein Schwiegersohn wurde. 1927 übersiedelte Busch in die Schweiz und 1939 in die USA. 1950 gründete er mit Rudolf Serkin und Marcel Moyse (18891984) die School of Music School (später Marlboro Music Fest) in Marlboro, Vermont. Aus der Sammlung des Wiener Anwalts Max Bettelheim (1912-1971). Von dessen Nachfahren übernommen.

Jahrhunderts. 1927 übersiedelte Busch in die Schweiz, wo er unter anderem zwei Jahre lang Lehrer von Yehudi Menuhin war. Die Stationen davor: Busch wurde 1912 Konzertmeister beim Konzert-Vereins-Orchester in Wien und gründete das Wiener Konzert-Vereins-Quartett. 1919 gründete Busch in Berlin das bekannte Busch-Quartett und 1920 ein Trio mit seinem Bruder Hermann Busch und mit Rudolf Serkin (19031991), der später sein Schwiegersohn wurde. Die Brüder Busch waren entschiedene Gegner der nationalsozialistischen Politik. Als Adolf Buschs Schwiegersohn und Kammermusikpartner, dem jüdischstämmigen Pianisten Rudolf Serkin, 1933 die Auftritte in Deutschland verboten wurden, war es für Adolf selbstverständlich, dass auch er sämtliche Konzerte in Deutschland absagte. Seit 1927 lebte er bereits in der Schweiz, 1939 emigrierte er in die USA. Aus der Sammlung des Wiener Anwalts Max Bettelheim (1912-1971).
