KIRSANOV, Semen Isaakovich. Poslednii sovremennik. [The Last Contemporary]. 95 pp. 8vo, 180 x 130 mm., bound in publisher's two-color Constructivist wrappers designed by Aleksander Rodchenko, in a new cloth folding box. Moscow: Federatsiya, 1930. A fine copy of this typical example of Rodchenko's work as a book designer. The author of the work, Semen Kirsanov, became a member of Vladmir Mayakovsky's group LEF. In the 1930s he used his poetry to further the propaganda and agitation goals of the Soviet government. He later created a number of famous slogans for factories and construction sites.
