First printing. 228 pp. Color frontispiece and two other tissue-covered illustrations by George Hood, who also did the page decorations. Olive green cloth cover with a binding design by Hood with his "GH" monogram on the front cover. The front cover has two rigid plant forms in pale green that culminate in a dark blue flower with one smaller blossom winding around the stem. Lettering is in gold. Our copy has a gift inscription in pencil on the front free endpaper. The cover edges show a fair amount of wear. The spine is somewhat faded. The front cover design has a small amount of light soil but remains bright and displayable.
