Abridged from the Original French by Frederick Hardman. 1853. "The Abridgements.are confined to verbal redundancies, and to such details of the Author's family and private affairs as are of slight general interest. The whole substance of the book, relating to the Philippine Islands and to the Author's adventures, has been retained in the present version." 144 pages. Contemporary Brown Calf Half-Leather Binding with Brown hatched cloth-covered boards and Leather Corners. 5 Raised Bands, with Gilt Hatching, on spine. Gilt Title on Dark Red Ground in 2nd compartment. 6 1/2" Tall, 310g. Some edge wear and scrapes to corners. Attractive illustrated Bookplate on Endpaper.
