hardcover. Condition: very good. Richard Avedon, Michael Peto, Anthony Crickmay, and et al. (illustrator). First. Illustrated with black and white photographs. 160 pages. 8vo, blue cloth. New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., 1963. First edition with exceptional large and bold signature in ball-point pen: "Rudolf Nureyev" on a leaf with a wonderful photograph opposite title page. Condition: missing dust wrapper; cloth rubbed and sunned at spine, some pages with mild spotting. Thus, we are selling this item based on the scarcity of the signed page as if we had removed it from the book. In 1963, Nureyev's signature was radically different than how it would become in later years. Accompanying this item are two Xerox examples of Nureyev's signatures from signed books offered by reputable dealers. Russian ballet dancer and choreographer often regarded as one of the best of his generation.
