Book
Soft cover. Condition: Good. Summary report of the first 32 years of a project designed to understand prehistoric earthworks by construction of experimental examples in two different environments (Wiltshire and Dorset). These features were monitored by excavation and analyses at 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 year intervals. This study shows that the extent of post-burial changes is greater than generally thought. Includes studies of soils, pollen, seeds, molluscs, decay of wood, textiles, leather, and bone. Presentation copy to Paul Ashbee who was involved in the early development of the experiment. Signed by 22 of the contributors. Ashbee bookplate inside front cover. Front cover bent.
