Hb. Condition: VG. Dust Jacket Condition: None. c. 1800. Continued Title page: ' Particulalry describing the solemn entrance which the Soul makes into the other world at death.' To which is annexed The Crook in the Lot; or the Wisdom and Sovreignty of God Displayed in the Afflictions of Men.' Original marbled leather boards with moderate rubbed wear, light scuffing and dusting of old soiling. Spine: gilt titles over black label and gilt trim, small blindstamped gilt decoratives amd gilt bands; single creasing down spine; thin 4cm split to head of spine on frontside; reaside seam surface splitting but sealed; 3 x 1 cm piece missing to head of rearside by spine. Small wear to fore corners. Light rubbing to extremeties. Edges: marbled edges with light dusing of fading and soiling. Fep: 1821 signature and refp with 1829 signature. Light 1820 watermmark to rep & refp. Splitting to front hinges and lightly to rear hinges. Mild old staining and foxing to eps. Frontis: Thomas Boston, Late Minister of the Gospels, at Ettericks; touch staining to edges. Few only faint foxijng to a few only pages. Binding is still VG albeit delicate.
