An attractive volume presented by the British National Union of Teachers to those attending the 1935 Conference of the World Federation of Educational Associations (WFEA). "This handbook prepared by the Local Committee organizing the Oxford Synchronized Conferences 1935 in order that our visitors may have in convenient form a description of the life and surroundings of the University and City of Oxford." [preface] Signatures of those attending the conference to the rear of ffep, half title and obverse of frontispiece, including that of the chief organizers Sydney Blake and J. W. L. Symes. Two signatures also bear a personal inscription: that of Masanori Oshima (Japan), and that of noted artist Acee Blue Eagle (Oklahoma). "In 1935, Blue Eagle was invited to give a series of lectures on American Indian art at Oxford University in England, and he took Europe by storm. Returning to the United States, that state year, he established the Art Department at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
