Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Facsimile Edition. pp: 197, 91 [40]. Bound in burgundy coloured cloth boards, and lettered in gilt. A facsimile of the first editions. This is the complete two-volume history that was originally published in two parts in 1914, and 1928. It includes a hybrid index at the end of the text that lists all the surnames from both volumes. Much of the material for these histories was taken from the 'Renfrew Mercury', and collected by Smallfield with the assistance of Reverend Campbell of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. The book offers views of the area through stories about the early settlers, the churches, schools, and businesses. The surname index is a handy reference that lists every page where the name is mentioned. This is a near fine copy with a couple of minor stains on the fore-edge. The binding is tight and secure, and the text is clean, without any markings or notes.
