He was Chairman and CEO of American Airlines for 11 years, from 1974 to 1985, and remained on the Board of Directors until 1991. Before that he was President of the Times Mirror Corp in Los Angeles for 8 years. He also served as Chairman of the Resolution Trust Corporation where his leadership helped the country recover from the savings and loan debacle of the late 1980s. More recently, Casey has been Distinguished Executive in Residence at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
