HardBack. Condition: Fair. No jacket. The Hastings Chess Tournament 1895 Containing The Authorised Account Of The 230 Games Played Aug. Sep. 1895 With Annotations By Pillsbury, Lasker, Tarrasch, Stenitz Sciffers, Teichman, Bardeleben, Blackburne, Gunsberg, Tinsley, Mason, And Albin And Biographical Sketches Of The Chess Masters. With TwentyTwo Portraits. Published 1896 by Chatto and Windus. Overall quite good condition for age. Spine is a bit faded, soiled and worn but the covers are still nice, with minimal wear only to corners. Hinge starting to crack between front endpaper and halftitle page. Title page is quite discoloured due to foxingspotting spotting also present on tracingpaper protector between frontispiece and title page. Minimal, sporadic foxingspotting throughout book. Player portrait plates all present and correct, clean and bright. Partially cracked hinge between rear endpaper and cover. Pages are now free and clear of markings and annotations. I spent hours going through and rubbing out pencil markings next to practically every move from every game youre welcome, but there are still occasional indents where rubbing out of pencil markings is slightly noticeable.
