Condition: Very Good. 4to.pp 22. Recto only. Folder with carbon typescript clipped to inner rungs. A deliberately unliteral 'free' translation into English by Ms Muriel Cole that was submitted to the writer Naomi Lewis (with a 2 page signed covering letter to her loosely inserted.) There are quite a few corrections in LMC's hand and questions to Naomi Lewis about matters of style. LMC notes that when she first showed this version to Gide scholar Francois Mouret he was horrified that she had taken too great a liberty with Gide's text. Slight wear, chips at spine otherwise near very good. Signedes.
