Thin paper cover has light edgewear, staple binding, hand typed recipes on one side of page only. Fat-Back & Molasses was edited, printed and published by the family of the Rev. Ivan F. Jesperson of St. John's, Newfoundland. Rev Jesperson writes: "This book of 'Favourite Old Recipes from Newfoundland and Labrador' is dedicated to the People of Newfoundland and Labrador on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary of Confederation. It represents my small contribution to help preserve part of the Heritage that is fast disappearing from 'this land of ours' First Edition July 1974, copyright applied for." On the last page along with a Recipe for Spruce Beer, the Rev. Jesperson wrote in 1976 : 'Fat-Back & Molasses' is not the usual kind of book that remains the same forever. It is constantly changing, hopefully for the better, every time new plates are made to run off more copies." The recipes were contributed by the United Church Women from many of the smaller communities and from 'The Labrador Cookbook' With contributor's name after each recipe. Illustrated by Lorie Jesperson.
