ROSENSTEIN WITH BEST PERSONAL WISHES EDWARD MARSHALL BOEHM. THERE IS A SECOND INSCRIPTION: "IN 1949 MR. BOHEM'S HAND WAS MUTILATED BY A BOXER AND WAS SAVED BY SURGERY PERFORMED BY DR. SAMUEL ROSENSTEIN. MEYER BERLINER D.V.M.". I SENT MRS. BOEHM A LETTER MANY YEARS AGO REQUESTING DETAILS REGARDING THE INCIDENT. IT WAS RETURNED AS "UNDELIVERABLE". A FEW YEARS LATER I TELEPHONED MRS. BOEHM AND SPOKE TO HER SECRETARY. HER TERSE RESPONSE WAS "MR. BOEHM COULD NEVER HAVE BEEN BITTEN BY HIS DOG, HIS DOG LOVED HIM". SHE THEN HUNG UP. THE BOOK WAS FROM MY AUNT AND UNCLE'S ESTATE. I REDISCOVERED THE BOOK IN MY STORAGE AREA RECENTLY.
