Eli Cohen (Alejandría, Egipto, 26 de diciembre de 1924 / 18 de mayo de 1965) fue un célebre espía israelí, reconocido como uno de los más exitosos espías de los tiempos modernos. Nacido en Egipto, Cohen contribuyó a actividades proisreaelíes en Egipto en los años 50, pero la parte más importante de su carrera comenzó cuando fue reclutado por la inteligencia militar israelí en 1960. Se le dotó de una identidad falsa como un árabe sirio que volvía a Siria tras vivir en Argentina. Para establecer su coartada, Cohen se fue a Argentina en 1961 y al año siguiente se mudó a Damasco. Durante los siguientes años, usando el apodo de Kamel Amin Tsa'abe, Cohen ganó con éxito la confianza de varios militares sirios y oficiales del gobierno, y envió mensajes de inteligencia a Israel por radio, cartas secretas y, ocasionalmente, visitando Israel en persona. Su logro más famoso fue su viaje a las fortificaciones Sirias de los Altos del Golán. En 1964 su control fue transferido al Mossad como parte de la reorganización llevada a cabo en los sistemas de inteligencia israelíes.
