Slipcased in matching material with full color pastedown. Bound in blindstamped silk covered boards with gilt titles. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid, boards clean with no wear present. The patterns and designs of the French fashion label Leonard from 1960 to 1984. Leonard was founded in 1958. Two years later, Daniel Tribouillard, Chif Executive Director, at that time, invented a new printing technique for pullovers named Fully-Fashion. Leonard took out a patent for this technique which allows to knit with a continuous print. In 1983, Japan asked him to design a line of kimonos. For the first time in 2642 years, since the birth of the Japanese kimono, a Westerner has the right to penetrate the secret of making traditional kimonos. In 1984, after several months of work in Kyoto and the study of "Japanese floral symbolism," he presented his first collection of kimonos in Japan.
