Limited edition of 2500 copies of this work originally published in 1889, near fine cloth hardcover shows a previous owner name at top of front endpaper, touch of bumping to top corners and some other very light trace wear, in near fine dust jacket that shows a touch of edgewear and very light exposure toning along spine and top edge of front panel. 345 pages with full page illustrations and indexes of persons mentioned and places discussed. Nice looking copy of this work that features "recollections and remarks by one who visited these shores in 1831, and again in 1833, and except when absent on business was a resident from 1838 until the end of a long life in 1909." Limited to 2500 copies. Near Fine in Near Fine Dust Jacket.

The book is in Very Good condition. The dust jacket (dj) is in Good condition. Hardbound in tan cloth, covered by original dj. The book is solid and clean. Lightly bumped/rubbed. Name inscribed in black grease pencil on front pastedown. Rough cut page foredge (as published). Pages browning/foxing, most notably along edges. The dj is bumped, chipped and wrinkled, particularly along the edges. There are small pieces missing (chipped) at head & foot of spine, along rear top edge, and at corners. Soiled with some waterspots on dj. The dust jacket is protected in an archival (removable) book jacket cover. Contains twenty beautiful reproductions of an oil paintings, watercolors, sketches and lithographs. Additional photos available upon request.
