It covers the life of a woman who was many things including a foundling, a whore, a many times wife (including to one of her brothers!) rich and finally poor again. First thus edition in a near fine publisher provided slip case and a burgundy colored cover. Spine has some kind damage to the outside of the lower portion and is sunned/toned. Wonderful copy of a classic work.
