From the same edition as the copy in the Robarts Library, University, University of Toronto; undated, but apparently the first UK edition [1922]. 9 1/4" x 6?, 344 pages, [21] sepia illustrations, 6 diagrams and maps ? all checked present. Pages 293 ? 327 slightly creased in the right-hand margin. Bound in blue cloth, gilt titles to spine; spine slightly faded, spine and boards somewhat rubbed. . The forward edge of the spine has recently split from the bottom for some 7? of its length, and may, even with careful handling, go further. Small label for The Times Book Club (a free lending library for subscribers of The Times) on rear fixed endpaper. The front fixed endpaper has the yellow and gilt bookplate of Archibald Philip, Earl of Rosebery. Generally a very good copy of this scarce title.
