Light bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Binding remains firm with tanning overall. Clipped jacket with heavy edge wear, large tears and chipping, causing loss around edges and spine. Flaps are detached but still present. Moderate tanning and creasing, with rubbing and marking.

Slight edge wear and some end paper foxing as it came via Florida. Spine faded a bit lighter. The book has a lengthy inscription by the author and also a typed, signed, letter on Northwestern Univ. letterhead to the owner from the author mentioning that it is VE day, May 8, 1945. Also included is a clipped review of the book from (I suspect) a NW univ. News publication of some sort. 418 pages which the author comments as "being more academic than the reviewers make it". It surely is a first as the letter alludes to the second Printing to be out soon. Signed by Author(s).
