The Official Operational History of the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War; No Higher Purpose: Volume II, Part 1, 1939-1943; A Blue Water Navy: Volume II, Part 2, 1943-1945; W.A.B. Douglas, Roger Sarty, Michael Whitby. Published by the Department of National Defence and Vanwell Publishing Limited, St. Catharines, Ontario, 2002 and 2007. Volume II, Part 2, A Blue Water Navy, continues the story and carries the narrative into the decisive final years of the Second World War, as the navy largely achieves its Blue Water Ambitions.
