Boards designed with silver and gold foils. Occasional signs of oxidation naturally appearing on this series, overall very well preserved in near fine condition, comes with a plastic cover protecting the boards, torn with chippings. Edges untrimmed, unopened. In original slipcase, usual signs of shelf wear to the slip case, closed tears, slight chippings. Including 20 black and white lithographs by Hubert Davis. Signed and numbered by him on the publication info page. Foreword signed by the Theodore Dreiser. Internally clean and tight. Excellent condition. Copy #355/525.

Square and firmly bound, a gift inscription on the front endpaper from Myrtle R. Butcher, the sister of Dreiser's second wife, Helen Esther Patges. A unique association to the author and his family.
