Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A good copy overall with fading to red cloth, mainly along spine, some edge wear including slight corner bumps. Some foxing (fairly unobtrusive) to edges of text block. No interior markings or bookplate although there is a blindstamp of private owner on last page. Lacking scarce dust jacket. Normal toning to paper. Hinges are sound. 288 pages. Attractively illustrated with many line drawings and full page photographic plates of historical interest. A book written for the general public but which due to the historical material and the carefully chosen instructional material, it will also appeal to professional and amateur magicians.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First American Edition. Date is an estimate. Slight dirt smudge on top of page edges, else a nearly fine, tight, clean copy with no prior owner markings or bookplates. Paper slightly age-darkening as expected. In a good plus to very good dust jacket with just a little fading to spine and only some minor edgewear and short tears at top of spine and a little dust soiling to blank rear panel. Top inside edge of spine reinforced with cello-tape. Front flap has a tiny 1/8" x 1/2" piece missing at top right corner, but the price is NOT clipped. Attractively illustrated with many line drawings and full page photographic plates of historical interest. An uncommon book, especially in such nice condition.
