Dust Jacket is mylar to protect it. When Margaret Mitchell died in 1949, most of her personal correspondence was destroyed and access to other memorabilia was restricted. But one revealing collection of her letters survived. Written to a dear college friend, Allen Edee, these previously unpublished letters span the summer of 1919 until December 1921.

Schiel, a geologist with no special training in medicine, had the great fortune to serve in the capacity of surgeon to the Gunnison Expedition sent out from Westport, Missouri, in 1853 to explore the possibilities of a railroad route to the Pacific. His life was saved when his horse was disabled and he had to return from the portion of the expedition which was wiped out by an Indian massacre. He continued with the expedition and reached the coast the following year after wintering with the Mormons at Salt Lake City. Bibliography and Index.
