Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Undated edition circa 1900s. No dust jacket. Green cloth boards are moderately rubbed and soiled, with frayed spine ends and corners. Illustrated plate on front has some scratches and rubbed spots. Binding is good. Some pink staining on lower page edge. Rear endpaper has a tiny hole, and one page has closed tears on outer margin. Foxing and light staining here and there throughout, that does not affect readability. Has 8 nice color plate illustrations. LO.

Dark brown binding, black titles to front & spine with decoration in black & beige to front edges with picture of fox in colour to front. Wear to spine-ends which are fraying, corners worn slightly round, wear with rubbing to all edges, rubbing/whitening to upper surfaces, paper splits to front & rear hinges holding on binding causing boards to wobble, slight browning to end-papers. Pencil inscription lined through in ink to flyleaf. Excellent colour plates & b/w drawings , some of the latter have been lightly crayoned in. Text is clean. Undated - looks about 1914.
