Three-volume set: George Eliot's Life: As Related in Her Letters and Journals: In Three Volumes, edited by her Husband, J. W. Cross. Published 1885 by Harper and Brothers. Hardcover (red-marbled paper with red cloth quarter-binding). 7 1/4" x 4 3/4" x 11/16" each. Some light wear evident all edges and corners; the edges of the spines on Vols. 1 and 3 are worn to separation (still attached), and Vol. 1 has a tear across the spine 1 1/2" below the crown. The spines are lightly faded. Most pages are age-yellowed, but they are clear of any markings. Strong bindings. Packaged using bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box.
