Newsletter in the form of an eight-panel brochure, 3.5x8.5 inches, very good condition. Larry Johnson, a real estate agent in Minneapolis, turned on to the counterculture when he went to collect rent from a group of hippies who converted him to their lifestyle. Under the name Ernest Free Mann, he printed the Little Free Press newsletter to spread his utopian vision of a cashless society based on mutual aid and the enjoyment of life. Mann's career as a missionary for the cash-free life ended in 1996 when his grandson tragically beat him to death. The Morrison County Historical Society has an interesting overview of Mann's life on its website, titled "Getting to Know an Ernest Mann.".
