Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 2nd Edition. This is the very rare 1922 Second Edition of the debut novel of Australian author Henry Handel Richardson. You can see the blue covers in the photographs provided. The gilt lettering on the front is very bright. On the spine it is only slightly less so. The front cover looks pretty much perfect. The spine has a crease at its bottom edge and a few light spots. The rear cover has a bit of discoloration in that one area adjacent to the spine (3rd photo). It is otherwise perfectly clean. The corners have a little color loss but no rub-through. The six edges are in very good condition. The page edges are quite clean. The book, despite running 562 pages, is very solidly bound. The pages are nicely tight. So are the covers. There are no cracks or spaces to be found anywhere. The pages are exceptionally clean. A slow scroll-through revealed no instances of soiling anywhere in the text. There is a tiny light spot on the half-title page. There are no markings on any of the pages. There is one attachment, a bookplate of a George L. and Harriet Carnes Cheney. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in this book.
