Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Howard Morris (illustrator). Once listed, this will be the Only copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. Moreover, the author has impersonally inscribed the book on the first front end paper. The inscription reads 'With Best Wishes! Anne Ott Frey.' Ms. Frey wrote one other book, Mr. Snooty and Other Tales. There are no copies of that book for sale on the Internet. My copy may not be a first edition, although it seems awfully odd that no other copy would be for sale if there had been more than one printing. There are no other printings referenced in this book (NAP), but with the publisher, Exposition Press, first editions are typically identified by the statement of such. You can see the covers in the photos. They are quite clean. The black lettering on the front and spine is nicely bright. The spine ends have only a slight bit of rubbing. The cover edges are in excellent shape. The corners have only speck-sized rubbing. There's a bump/crease below the rear covers top corner. I don't see any staining on the page edges. The spine has a very slight forward lean. The book is solidly bound from cover to cover. The covers themselves are solidly, tightly bound as well. The interior of the book is in quite decent condition. There is the small shape of a removed sticker on the signed front end paper, also some speckling of tiny foxing spots. The rear inside cover and rear end paper have very little of that. The half-title page has only a little bit of the same. The remainder of the pages none at all that I see. The title page has a brown speck, but is otherwise very clean. I turned over all the pages and found only two with a few tiny spots off their bottom edge, far from the print. There are five full-page black-and-white drawings by a Howard Morris. They are all in excellent shape. Some pages have a very light and tiny crease just under their top corners, not much of anything. There are no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings anywhere. No attachments. And the author's signature (see photo) is the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. 'Anne Ott Frey was an educator and author of children's books. Born in Buffalo, she attended Holy Name School and Mount St. Mary's Academy. She earned her bachelors and master's degrees in education from Buffalo State Teachers College and pursued graduate studies at the University of Buffalo and Canisius College. After her first teaching assignment at the Harlem Road School in Sloan, she taught for 25 years in the Buffalo school system. She won an award from the Mark Twain Society for 'The Land of the Gay Sombrero,' which included a number of Spanish words and was used as an aid in teaching that language (the book ends with two pages of English definitions of the Spanish words the author has used). The author was a past president of the Buffalo State College Alumni Association. She was host to students from Ecuador, Panama and Costa Rica when her daughters were part of the student exchange program.'. Signed by Author(s).
