Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Account of this South African voortrekker's arduous journey with settlers in the early 19th-century. Trigardt's diary was a valuable contribution to ethnology, linguistics, geography, weather patterns, and wildlife of the southern African interior. Tan cloth with blue spine title and pictorial on front board. Moderately edgeworn and rubbed with bumping to corners. Binding firm. Small library stamp on front endpaper, and previous owner's names inside front board and endpaper. "REF" written in red inside front board. No other markings. Contents clean and very good with color fold-out frontispiece illustration, black and white photographs, and five fold-out maps.

Some Age Toning But Quite Sound And Clean, Rated Very Good. Verso of title page contains a stamp of former owner, Hiram Blauvelt, "Bluefield" Oradell, New Jersey. He was a notable big game hunter, conservationist and philanthropist. His Wildlife Art Museum, established in 1957 in the large stables next to his house is still operating. 171 pages plus prelims.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Vol 13 VRS. Not signed, but inscribed by the editor, Leo Fouche, on the front end page. The boards are quite shelf rubbed, edge worn and marked, with the cloth fraying in the corners, but they remain strong and sturdy despite this. Internally, there is a previous owner's signature under the front board. There is some age-related tanning/marking to the end papers, but there are no other markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are neat and complete. The binding is secure. JK.
