Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Non-Fiction, 19 chapters plus the index, Black linen-like cover, front and back blank, spine similar with title, author and publisher, pages clean and tight with only a trace of soiling on the page edges, Dust Jacket is light blue sparkling sea water background wiht title in black and orange, white circle with warships afire and sinking as seen through a periscope, the command tower (photo) with 4 men on a ship observing while a US and Nazi German flag show on the flagpole. Most lettering is in black. The artwork wraps around to the spine which contains the title, author and symbol for the publisher. The back cover of the dust jacket is a photo of Rear Admiral Gallery. The flaps tell the story of the USN task force out of Norfolk going out to search for submarines, commanded by the author. The dust jacket has some tattering along bottom edges (front and spine) and more tattering on the upper side of the spine.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Black boards with white lettering on spine. On top of the text block, there is a stamp "Property of the US Navy". The first FEP is torn from the book. On the front paste down, someone has pasted a summary of Gallery's capture of the U-505. This could summary could have been from the dust jacket. It is hard to tell. At the rear of the book, someone taped a picture of Gallery on the rear paste down. This page looks like it was from the DJ for sure. Owner's name stamped on half title page. Not particularly tight or loose.

Extremely rare title, but this one is in the best condition of any that I could find being offered for sale here on the internet! Full color comical illustration on fc with purple, red, and black font, black and red font on spine. VERY GOOD + Shape, with almost no shelf wear or damage. One main crease on spine, minor crease along rear spine edge, very slightly bumped corners. Yellow colored page edges, no foxing of any kind in text. Totally unmarked, tight, square, clean, and odor free. No DJ as issued. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall First Warner PB Edition, Fourth Printing.
