Condition: new. Pages: 72 Language: Russian, English. The music by Valery Gavrilin (1936-1999) has long ago and utmostly firmly entered the repertoire of theatres and concert halls. It may be heard in the films of cinema and TV, in radio programmes. Pop stars and serious classical performers include it to their stock. This music is unpretentious and intricate at the same time. The beginning musician finds the nature, which is so familiar to him in this music, not to mention the easily learnt melody and comfortable facture, quite convenient for the hands. Children are fond of playing Gavrilin. His pieces resemble the kind of game as well. The grown-ups also enjoy performing and listening to Gavrilin, being attracted by the same spirit of game, as the children are, but not only by this. The grown-ups are drawn by the duality of this game. Even the most unexperienced of them hear the composer's sly dialogue with the classical patterns. The composer talks to his "predecessors" and this talk is delicate, clear and serious, however, enlighten by his smile. These are the time, the home, the death, that make this dialogue serious and profound. And the smile is evoked by his memory, reminding of many persons to have been spoken about the same very things, yet going on to live, to die and everything turned out all right. Gavrilin's smile is sad - but this is still a smile. Gavrilin's personages are like the fairy ones, existing either in reality, or in one's imagination. Gavrilin's music looks ingenuous and "cozy", quite easily comprehended. However, quite of a sudden it turns to the grandiouse, mighty and nearly limitless substance, reverting unexpectedly to simplicity and unaffectedness, as if pronouncing with apologetic expression: "take it easy, everything is all right." Isn't it a real tale? The collection of pieces for piano by Valery Gavrilin is recommended as the kind of a text-book to the pupils of music schools and their teachers. Contents Portraits 1. A Capricious Child 2. The Little Boy Walks, the Little Boy Yawns 3. A Tender Heart 4. A Light-Hearted One At the Concert 1. The Curtain Rises 2. The Polonaise 3. The Boys' Dance 4. The Performance 5. Valery Gavrilin's violin music refers to the early period of his creation, when the young composer was enthralled by the art of his idol Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich. Large-scale constructions, facture, perfectly visualized in graphic, refined intonations peculiar to different imaginative spheres - all these features seemed to have been inherent in the chamber genres of the great Soviet composer, all these features are easily discovered in Gavrilin's violin opuses dating the beginning of 1960ies. However, mature Gavrilin was not striving to return to these compositions. Nevertheless, there is Gavrilin's melodic cantilena, keen dynamic stroke and exceptional fantasy to be noticed in it. Some of these pieces were tried at the young violinists' regional competitions, meanwhile being published only for the first time. Violin parts are edited by the distinguished Petersburgian violin connoisseur and teacher Savely Markovich Shalman. Piano part is edited by the young pianist Igor Kirilenko. The publication is intended for the concert and pedagogical repertoire. Skripichnaja muzyka Valerija Gavrilina - plod ego rannego tvorchestva, kogda molodoj kompozitor byl uvlechen iskusstvom svoego kumira Dmitrija Dmitrievicha Shostakovicha. Masshtabnye formy, grafichnaja tekhnika pisma, intonatsionnaja blizost obraznoj manere, kotoraja byla svojstvenna, kak kazalos molodomu kompozitoru, kamernym zhanram genialnogo sovetskogo muzykanta, - takie cherty netrudno obnaruzhit v gavrilinskikh skripichnykh opusakh kontsa 1950-kh - nachala 1960-kh. Buduchi zrelym masterom, Gavrilin ne stremilsja vozvraschatsja k etim proizvedenijam. Tem ne menee v nikh uzhe zametny gavrilinskaja melodicheskaja kantilena, ostryj dinamichnyj shtrikh, nezaurjadnaja fantazija. Tri kvarteta dlja dvukh skripok, alta i violoncheli mogut schitatsja naibolee znachitelnymi sochinenijami Valerija Gavrilina dlja strunnykh v rassmatrivaemyj period kak otmechennye po maksimumu kharakternymi chertami skladyvavshegosja v te gody ego kompozitorskogo stilja. Vashemu vnimaniju predlagaetsja Kvartet No. 3, napisannyj v 1964 godu. 9790352220355.
