From the dust jacket: 'From the master storyteller and author of the international best seller about oil 'The Exploiters', here is another novel as current as this morning's headlines. Set in New York, in Washington, and in the Basque provinces of Spain, it is a story about the Basques' fierce struggle for independence from their Spanish oppressors, about conniving and manipulating in the highest echelons of the art world, and about decisions made by men seeking the presidency of the United States. The Caves of Guernica resounds with echoes of the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War, of recent machinations in the high-priced world of art, and of the ever present and unyielding demands of the politically oppressed.'.
