This book contains 48 reproductions and introduces you to Rembrandt's particular heroes and favourite stories to which again and again the Dutch master returned.

Daniel Catton Rich introduces this largely-pictorial survey of the famed collection, heavy on religious sculpture but also decorative architectural columns and similar church furnishings.

A series of 33 essays by as many authors, plus Preambles I and II, and with an introduction by Oswald Goetz, mastermind behind this project to honor Swarezenski on his 75th birthday. Contributors include Erwin Panofsky, Lilli Fischel, Bernard Berenson, Gaetano Ballardini, Hans Tietze, and others. Also includes a bibliography of Swarzenski's publications. Each essay is in one language only, and among them, they are in English, German, Italian, and French. Most essays center on some aspect of European art. Swarzenski was a pioneering art museum director in Frankfurt and later an art curator in the US. VG, clean, tight interior but for very small stamp on flyleaf from art museum library; covers rubbed, and spine faded.
