near fine large softcover, 1976.
Published by Chelsea House Publishers, New York, NY, 1970
Book
Hardcover. Condition: Acceptable to Good. 768 pp. Tightly bound. Corners not bumped. Text is free of markings. No ownership markings. Published without dust jacket in acceptable slipcase that shows rubbing and wear to the extremities / edges. The primary reason for the lower "acceptable to good" rating is because the cloth on the spine shows light fading along with what appears to be an old moisture stain on the edge of the spine and edge of the back board. Instead of the cloth showing red it now shows pink at that spot. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.
